Green screen studio set up

These two photos illustrate the green screen set up I use for The Northwest Minute. I use three FloLights, a Panasonic HPX370 ENG style camera and a vintage MacBook Pro as a teleprompter on a DIY mount. I also use a Photovision white balance target, which has black, white and a neutral gray target on one side. This week I added a Photoflex reflector to cut the background light off so Dante's bald head wouldn't be too hot. The background light is mounted on a century stand (c-stand) with a boom arm and aimed straight down. Aiming the light straight down (parallel to the background) makes a smooth light with only a marginal hot spot. The Westcott brand green screen is made of a fleece blanket type material and I leave it hung all the time. The two foreground FloLights are raised up high, which help eliminate reflections in Dante's glasses when he hosts the show.

Reflections of Northwest, Spring Commencement 2014

Each year I produce a testimonial video from interviews with graduating seniors reflecting on their time at Northwest. Often I'm cutting several hours of raw video down to a 2-3 minute. As I cut I try to find common themes to link the different comments together into one video. The style of the video can be attributed to capturing the testimonials with Canon DSLR camera rather than using a traditional video camera. To further enhance the video a vignette was added using Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks plugin in Adobe Premiere CS6.

Highlights from Men's Basketball vs. Southwest Baptist

This video was produced from video captured by myself and two video students. We used a courtside camera to capture the team bench as well as some high three-point arch shots, a baseline camera, a GoPro Hero 3+ behind the glass and a GoPro Hero 2 on the low post. In post production, we added a grunge photo frame, film defects and a watermark to avoid theft and repurposing of our footage.
